COVID-19 UPDATE

We are still open and seeing patients but are currently making several changes to ensure everyone is protected and safe. We will be adjusting appointment times to be on a strict 1 hour private examination plus shopping experience schedule. This ensures only one person (or family) is in the store at a time, and staff can take extreme COVID-19 measures and protocol seriously. We want the most minimal amount of people in the store possible. We will be sanitizing everything touched before and after appointments, including frames. No one else can walk in the locked doors without an appointment so there will be no risk of outside exposure or violation of 6 foot distancing rule. We will deliver glasses or contacts by mail or by drive-through pick-up by appointment.

Dr. Bryant and our Edge Optics opticians will be wearing protective gear when working with patients, even during frame selects. Please prepare any kids for this so that they are not alarmed. We want them to feel comfortable too. We have also eliminated all small toys from the kids area, and only kept large items that can be sanitized between families. All glasses, sunglasses, and contact lens items that were touched and tried on will be sanitized before they are put back and anyone else can come into contact with them. We will require you to sanitize your hands upon entry and as you are leaving the store and maintain suggested protocol if you are currently sick or in a high risk group.

We want you to know how seriously we are taking this pandemic.  We do not want to be responsible for any exposure, spread, or contamination. Dr. Bryant will also be available to existing patients for telemedicine (by appointment) for issues related to ocular infection, red eye, emergencies, or possible ocular symptoms of coronavirus, if you are concerned about leaving your house or entering the store. We will continue to put 100% effort into doing our very best and offering various methods for treatment and help. We know people NEED TO SEE and GET TREATED!! The hospitals are overrun. We are here for you. Our staff is thoroughly trained on this matter, and ready to serve the community.

In light of the continued spread of COVID-19 and more recently, the ‘global pandemic’ declaration by the World Health Organization, we at Edge Optics have been taking various precautionary measures and adjusting our operations to ensure the health and safety of our employees, clients, families and the greater community. We will continue to do so as the situation changes. We are making every effort to ensure this situation does not impact the quality of service and support that we are providing to our clients.

At this time our office remains open, but we are prepared for the viral concerns with extra sanitary measures, protocol for staff, and asking our patients to reschedule if they are feeling unwell. If you do not feel comfortable coming in to the office to pick up your glasses or contacts, give us a call from the back parking garage and we can have someone run them out to the back door for you. If you need more contact lenses please remember that you can order them safely from the comfort of your home by calling us or ordering them from us online here. Additionally, wearing your glasses more often if you are a regular contact lens wearer in order to reduce touching of the eyes and face is probably a good idea at this time.

We have temporarily canceled our weekly yoga class on Thursdays, as well as the Happy Hour for a Cause event for the local non-profit Matthews House, since large group gatherings are not a good idea.
